Highlighting Homelessness at Christmas

The misuse and I wanted to do something to highlight the tragic plight of homeless people at this time of the year.
Thousands of people, some down on their luck, some thrown on the scrap heap by our uncaring government, end up begging and sleeping rough on the freezing cold streets of this country.

We scratched our brains.

Would we photograph actual homeless people within a background of tinsel and fairy lights?
If so, would they appreciate that?
Or
Would we find a suitable opulent town or city and set up a scenario to see how shoppers would react?
Would they be disgusted?
Would they offer help?
Etc…

We opted for a set up, using me as the homeless person.
It was an interesting project, sociologically speaking.
